As a loan guy, I like to keep up with what’s happening in the real estate and mortgage industries. Not only does it help me do my job better, but it allows me to spot emerging trends and act upon them accordingly.
This morning, I was watching a video by a couple mortgage guys. Brian Stevens and Frank Garay produce a daily news / entertainment video called Think Big Work Small. While not their usual banter about who is doing what because they are on the road for several days, they bring up a great point that I feel is worth sharing.
They state that numerous experts expect the recession to be over in two years, or three years, or even five years.
If you take the true definition of a recession, two straight quarters of negative GDP growth, we are currently out of the recession. Problem is, we still feel it.
And that’s the point. As long as we still feel it, it must be going on.
Maybe we each need to decide to end the recession soon, or better yet as have heard a couple of my friends say, just choose not to participate in it.
