I’d like to congratulate Valparaiso Indiana for being named the 2009 Indiana Chamber of Commerce Community of the Year. It really is quite an award and they are very deserving.

If you are not familiar with the city, here is the official Valparaiso website. Not only will you find the usual phone numbers for the various departments, but a wealth of information on the city, it’s residents, industry, and housing.

As an infrequent guest at Chamber of Commerce events, I can tell you that they are a great group of people who have only the best interests of the city in mind.

If you will be visiting Valpo (as we call it) soon, I would recommend checking out the Visitor’s website. If has information on dining, hotels, seasonal events, historic preservation, and much more. There are also lots of photos taken around the city.

Of course, don’t forget that Valparaiso is also home to Valparaiso University, the Porter County Fairgrounds and Exibition area, and of course, the Popcorn Festival.

Because it is an attractive, well-maintained city with a historic downtown and a large, recent improvement to the infrastructure, don’t be surprised to see people from all over the country visiting and even moving to the city.
